چکیده

Bismuth-germanate glasses, which are well known as a promising active medium for broadband near-infrared spectral range fiber lasers and an initial matrix nonlinear optical glass ceramics, have been synthesized in 5–50 mol% Bi2O3 wide concentration range. Their structural physical characteristics were studied by Raman FT-IR spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray diffraction, optical, luminescence methods. It has found that the main units of glasses [BiO6] [GeO4]. The growth bismuth oxide content resulted increase density refractive index. luminescent properties strongly depended on amount centers. maximum intensity IR achieved 5Bi2O3-95GeO2 sample. heat treatment formation several crystalline phases, structure composition. phases non-linear Bi2GeO5 scintillating Bi4Ge3O12. Comparing with previous papers dealing germanium oxide-based we enlarge up to 50 decrease synthesis temperature from 1300 1100 °C.

Laser-diode-excited intense luminescence and green-upconversion in erbium-doped bismuth-germanate-lead glasses.

We investigate the spectroscopic properties of the 1.5-microm emission from the (4)I(13/2)-->(4)I(15/2) transition of Er(3+) ions in bismuth-germanate-lead glasses for applications in broadband fiber amplifiers. The emission peak locates at 1532nm with a full width at half-maximum (FWHM) of approximately 65nm. The measured lifetime and the calculated emission cross-section of this transition ar...

Synthesis and Characterization of Lithium Borate Glasses Containing Bismuth

A lithium bismuth borate glass system is prepared by the conventional melt quenching technique. The Powder X-Ray diffraction analysis of the prepared samples confirms the amorphous nature of the samples. The density and molar volume studies report the change of structure with the increase of bismuth content. The FTIR analysis of the samples revealed that the network structure of the prepared sa...

Luminescence Properties of TeO2-LiF-Gd2O3 Glasses

In this work, the structural properties and spectroscopic behavior 80 mol.%TeO2-20mol.%LiF glasses which were doped with 0. 05, 0. 2 mole% Gd2O3 have been studied. It was shown that,  by increasing the amount of Gd2O3 the glass stability was decreased. The PL emissions at 431nm and 627nm wavelengths were distinguished by 320nm excitation. The FT-IR analysis showed deformed TeO4 groups in these ...

Upconversion luminescence in Er-doped germanate-oxyfluoride and tellurium-germanate-oxyfluoride transparent glass-ceramics

Upconversion luminescence has been studied for Er in a germanate-oxyfluoride and a tellurium-germanate-oxyfluoride transparent glass-ceramic using 800 nm excitation. Significantly increased upconversion luminescence was observed from transparent glass-ceramics compared with that from their corresponding as-prepared glasses. In addition to a strong green emission centered at 545 nm from S3/2 sta...
